VIN EXPRESS / Buyer’s guide
Connect China sourcing and manufacturing to your logistics plan.
VIN EXPRESS connects China procurement, reverse engineering development and manufacturing with warehouse logistics for the U.S. market. Start with a sample, drawing or specification; agree the development requirements, approve the prototype and authorize manufacturing. Then carry the approved product references through receiving, storage and fulfillment, with return findings fed back to the supplier or engineering owner.
01
Define engineering approval and receiving checks.
For reverse-engineered or newly sourced parts, approve the reference sample or drawing, material, tolerance and performance requirements, and acceptance method before manufacturing release. Name who approves prototypes, changes and vehicle fitment. At warehouse receiving, use approved SKU mappings and labels to identify stock. Quantity and visible-condition checks do not establish catalog accuracy or compatibility; refer unresolved items to the designated owner.
02
Turn inputs into operating records.
Agree both the instruction and the evidence that closes each handoff. The following are planning examples to adapt to your products.
| Your input | Decision to agree | Operating record |
|---|---|---|
| Sample or drawing and product requirements | Which revision, material, tolerances and performance criteria govern development? | Agreed specification, reference revision and assigned engineering approvals. |
| Approved prototype and manufacturing acceptance | Who authorizes production and accepts the manufactured batch against agreed criteria? | Sample approval, manufacturing release, batch acceptance and approved changes. |
| SKU mapping and label sample | Which identifier controls when supplier and sales references differ? | Received quantity linked to the approved SKU; unresolved items held separately. |
| Expected arrival and packing list | Who reviews shortages, overages or visible packaging damage? | Expected versus received count, exception notes and requested photographs. |
| Packaging instructions | Which protection, labels and order combinations are approved? | Packing instruction version and any approved substitution or exception. |
| Return disposition rules | Who authorizes disposition and reviews recurring product issues? | Return condition, approval, final stock status and feedback to the supplier or engineering owner. |
03
Compare six logistics cost components.
Quote engineering, tooling and production separately from warehouse and logistics work. For these six logistics components, confirm billing units, minimums, exclusions and charge assumptions.
Receiving
Cartons, pallets, unloading method, counting detail and arrivals without usable references affect the work.
Storage
Packed dimensions, storage unit, duration, stock mix and peak occupancy shape the space assumption.
Pick and pack
Orders, lines per order, units, kits and wholesale versus parcel instructions affect handling.
Packaging materials
Carton size, surface protection, cushioning and customer labels change material and preparation needs.
Transport
Supplier cargo readiness, route, destination, weight, dimensions, carrier arrangements and additional handling influence the transport quote.
Returns and exceptions
Condition records, photographs, holding time, repacking and approved disposition can create separate charges.
04
Five checks before you ship.
- Confirm supplier and engineering signoff on specifications, prototype approval and manufacturing release.
- Confirm receiving arrangements, product acceptance, SKU references, carton counts, measurements and the packing list.
- Approve packaging, label samples and the handling instructions for fragile or bulky parts.
- Name contacts for arrival discrepancies, return disposition and feedback to the supplier or engineering owner.
- Confirm included work, exclusions, billing units, responsibilities and any agreed service levels.
Examples are preparation tools. Engineering, manufacturing and logistics responsibilities, facilities, capacity, systems, acceptance criteria, timing and prices are established in the written proposal and agreed scope.
